    C1 Wonderbar / Clock

Does anyone know of a good shop to have my 59 Wonderbar restored. I am also looking for a shop to do my clock (not quartz).

    Thanks
    Clark

Clockworks does a great job on clocks for about $40 plus shipping. Dunno about the radio.

For Wonderbars, it's Charles Siegfried, Sebastapol, California. He rebuilt my '57 Wonderbar and does excellent work. Don't have his number handy, but he advertises in the Corvette parts and services section of Hemmings Motor News.

        Re: C1 Wonderbar / Clock

Clark, I have recently dealt with an individual who fixed my extremely ailing 61 Wonderbar radio. Believe me when I say "ailing". When I began my search for a reliable repairman someone recommended a man who lives on the West Coast, but unfortunatley I thought his price was somewhat high. By accident I found this fellow I used. He was selling NOS radio tubes on ebay and I started a conversation with him. He lives in Germany. Don't let the distance scare you. He charges a flat rate of $99 to fix a radio. I was extremely skeptical but, figured the only thing I had to lose was my radio and the $40 it cost me to ship. When it arrived he e-mailed me and gave me a breakdown of what was wrong and how long it will take to fix. Several weeks later it was underway to me and the shipping back was about $50. I installed the radio a few days ago, and truly this radio sounds just like it was made yesterday. The Wonderbar searches perfectly. The sound is so crisp. He did a fantastic job. I would think he would have no problem working on a 1959 model just as he did my 61 Wonderbar. If you are interested send him a e-mail and he will respond back promptly. If you have any questions feel free to contact me @ cwilletts@triad.rr.com. You will not be disappointed with his work.

Check out www.wonderbarman.com. Crockett Sound Labratory is in Alamo TN. Call Tony Mac Crutchfield at (731) 696-4163. He did mine - works great.
