Want to stay original and need to change the upper ball joints on my 71. What are the tricks to putting them back in. Any special tools required to press the rivit, or just beat them. I have the control arms out of the car.
Thanks
Ralph Adams

Re: Discription on how to change rivited ball join
Your best bet would be to send them off. Bair's, Van Steel, and Long Island all offer this service. LICS sells the items needed to do it yourself. I don't know for sure if the replacement uppers can be riveted. Seems like I remember reading that somewhere. I bought GM uppers when they were still available a couple of years ago. I live in Houston and took them to Nabers Bros. and had them done.
