I am in the process of rebuilding my steering knuckle support / spindle. I have taken both of them apart, cleaned, and painted them. What I did not do was document which knuckle support goes with which spindle. I guess that makes me a knuckle head. Sorry I couldn't resist.
I have looked through Noland Adams book, 53-62 servicing guide, chassis restoration guide, and the assemble manual and there is no clear picture to help me. The steering knuckle supports have a small square stop at the top of them. Does the stop go to the back or to the front? Knowing this should tell me which one is for the passenger side and which one is for the drivers side. From the pictures it looks as the passenger side had the spindle grease fittings to the front and the fittings to the back on the drivers side. Is this correct?
Thanks.
