Sinkhole

While visiting in Hickory, NC over the weekend two large sinkholes developed in front of a resturant after getting 3.22 inches of rain in a two hour period. One of the sinkholes took engulfed a 2002 Corvette with 4000 miles on it. The Corvette was nowhere to be seen and the size of the hole was estimated to be between 80 to 100 feet deep. Would like for fellow NCRS members to keep up with the story that live in the area as to what develops.

I saw the sinkhole while visiting Hickory earlier this week. Huge!

I understand the Vette owner has already ordered a new one.

When they retrieve the guy's C5 from the sinkhole, the title will become "Salvage" when the insurance company totals it, someone will buy it from the insurance company and "wash" the title back to normal in another state, and it'll wind up on eBay with a description like "Minor water damage - was left out in the rain with the top down"
