    C2 67 Starter solenoid

Does anyone know the correct application of a starter solenoid with stamping #1114356. According to my Chevy parts book, it is close, number wise, to 1972-74 but they didn't explicitly state a part # for 1958-1971 so I'm wondering if it is for 67....
This is under part section 2.100 of the Corvette Parts catalog. Rev 11-81
    Thanks

    Steve------

GM #1114356 was the original starter solenoid used for 68-70 Corvettes. I believe that it was also used in PRODUCTION at least as early as 1967 and for quite awhile after 1970. I may be able to tell more later.

Thanks for looking that up Joe.
I'm trying to determine if this solenoid is the original that came on the car. It has that number and it also has a BLACK bakelite cap with the inscription "Made In USA". It does not say DELCO REMY on it.

        Steve-----

There is no way to tell if it's the one originally supplied with the car or an identical SERVICE replacement. The black plastic cap (it was not really Bakelite, although that term is often used to describe certain parts most of which are NOT Bakelite) is a characteristic of these original solenoids. If it has the Delco Remy part number on it it is VERY likely a Delco Remy product. As I recall, these solenoids did not usually have the Delco Remy brand name on them.

With your input and information, I'm considering the solenoid to be "original" and will re-install it on the car.
          Thanks
