What maintenance is required with a "Restoration Battery" and how long do they last? I'd like to get a replica of the original, but for the money, I want to make sure it functions well for all my driving. It looks like it's going to be tricky getting the old one out too.

You will get varying answers with respect to "restoration Battery" life, the one in my '62 is going on 56 years old ans still starts the car, even though I have mistreated it along the way. The key is maintaining the water level. As to pulling to old one out, it isn't too bad, unbolt the surge tank and move it out of the way, unbolt the battery hold-down and take off the cables, remove the hold-down, get a trash bag and snake it around the old battery, pull it up in the bag and you are done. (requires some angle on the battery to clear everything). I'm going to talk to Tom at Corvette Carlisle and get up to date on availability. -
