    1965 Corvette shock absorbers

I am installing new GM shocks on my 65 Corvette coupe, standard suspension.
My questions are, did they paint the shocks grey at the factory ?? Did they paint the black rubber inserts at the ends of the shock or did they mask them off ?? I can not imagine them taking the time to mask off.
Thank You for your help !! #38102

    Lane -

The shocks were painted at Delco when they were made. The rears have no paint on the lower rubber bushings (they were installed at St. Louis), and the upper bushing (Delco-installed) may show some evidence of paint. I believe the bottom end of the front shocks may also show evidence of paint on the bushing.
