    70-72 BB C60 help

I am trying to put together the big picture on the air conditionings system in my late 71. The car had been stored by the previous owner for about 12 years. All of the components are there but I was advised that it was missing an o-ring on one of the condenser lines. There is no evidence of it having a water shut off valve or the vacuum hose from the firewall to the valve. It also appears to have had the AC hoses replaced at some point. I plan on getting new hoses made but I need to know the orientation of the fitting on the bottom of the P.O.A valve. The way it sits right now, the U-shaped tube that attaches curves out toward the fender. Should it curve in toward the engine?

I have a new o-ring set and plan on running R12. Any other things I should be thinking about to get the system working? Change the compressor oil?

    Thanks for the input.

Joe on my 70 350 with air the tube is attached with the tube towards the fender and the hose of course coming up and over the rear of the fenderwell.
Since you are going to open the system to install a o-ring, I recommend to change out the dryer and remove the the metal screen filter in the system and replace it or clean it. The metal screen can be removed using an easy out just to get hold of it, it really comes out pretty easy just somewhat difficult to grasp.
A air conditioner shop can remove the oil from your system when they service it and install new oil with the R-12 charge.
