I can't tell you where to get any, but the part number that you're looking for is GM #1939480. These could be tough to find; they were discontinued more than 20 years ago. I don't know of anyone that makes exact replacements for distributor weight springs. However, if you can find anyone that does (like, maybe, Standard Auto Parts, Filko, Borg-Warner, or NAPA), they should be able to cross-reference from this number. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Any shop that still has a Sun distributor machine will have lots of them; failing that, you can create just about any curve you want using different combinations of the light-medium-heavy springs included in the aftermarket curve kits (Accel, etc.). Keep your original weights - the aftermarket weights are junk.- Top

Rare sources
By now GM has dropped all their advance springs for non-HEI distributors. The aftermarket kits I've tried contained springs that are so light the advance started below 800 rpm. The only way I've been able to use these kits is to pair one of their lame-ass springs with a super stiff GM original. That gets the curve starting point down to about 1,200 rpm.
If you find an aftermarket source for good springs, please post it on this board. I'd love to buy some too.- Top
