I've been looking at a 54 & 57 that has been sitting behind a barn looks like most of their life. The paint is pretty much long gone. My question is the integrity of the fiberglass. Besides the stress cracks, is there anything else I should be looking for? I was just wandering if the fiberglass is still good after sitting out all these years.

Re: C1 & C2 Fiberglass Question
The fiberglass is probably OK. The most common kind of deterioration for fiberglass sitting out in the sun will be exposed fiberglass hairs and a very bleached out surface. This damage can be repaired by re-saturating with resin.- Top

A specific area to look at on these cars is the glass surrounding the fresh air vent. This surface tends to sink between the wiper posts, especially if the vent is adjusted too tightly and the car sits outside for years. But, if you decide not to pursue them, I'll bet there's a few thousand guys reading this who'd like the chance...
Good luck, Cal- Top
