    '57 Convertible Top Replacement

I am in need of a replacement, correctly dated top and weather stripping for my '57. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to buy it. Most all the supply houses have them and I wondered if one was better than the other or if all got them from the same supplier......Thanks......Rex

In my opinion, no matter where you buy a top, make shre that it is an Al Knoch top! His C1 are beyond compare. You cannot buy at a discount from Al directly however, but many suppiers discount his stuff fairly well. Regards, John McGraw

      Rex,
In addition to the "right on" suggestion John gave you, the rubber w/s will most likely be coming from Corvette Rubber. The '56/'57 w/s have a special problem, to make them as original bowdrill, a cloth like material must be wrapped around each piece. The self stick bowdrill can be purchased from Steele Rubber Co. Regards,

I have considered getting Al Knoch to install a new top at the NCRS winter regional meet in Florida next January. Does anyone see a problem with this????

Plus, it is quite a show to watch them work! Gilbert can put a top on a car in one forth the time it takes me, and it looks better to boot! Regards, John
