    Flywheel Bolt Torque

What is the recommended torque for the six bolts that mount the flywheel to the crankshaft ('63 250HP M20?) I checked the shop manual under both the engine/mechanical section and under the clutch section and didn't find it either place. Maybe I'm just getting too impatient or I can't see as well as I once did. Another question- the shop manual shows a dowel pin between the crank and the flywheel in addition to the six bolts. My engine rebuilder says "no." Does anyone have experience here? Thanks in advance for any help here.

    Pete -

It's 55-65 lb-ft. (page 14-4 in the '63 Shop Manual). Your engine builder is correct - you don't need a dowel to locate the flywheel (unless it's a 400 small-block).

Thanks, John. Hope to have the engine in the chassis this weekend!
