Loren and Ian-----
Actually, I don't think that it will bolt in. Most, if not all, 1963 Muncies and T-10s used on Corvettes used a smaller front bearing retainer diameter and the bellhousing hole was commensurately smaller. If your bellhousing is GM #3788421, then you have the smaller bearing retainer size and the 68 Muncie will not bolt in. Although the input shaft splines and the main case-to-bellhousing bolt pattern are the same, the bearing retainer difference makes the 68 Muncie incompatible. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 63- T10
Joe is correct, look at the case on your T-10, if it has the T-10 D designation on the pass side of the case, it is designed for the 421 BH. the "D" case can be adapted with a special front bearing retainer to work with a Bellhousing other than a "421", but there is not a way to adapt the non-63 designs down to fit the 421. As Loren says, rebuild the T-10 and you will be better off.- Top

Re: 63- T10
Ian - I also have a '63 T-10 that did not down shift and popped out of gear. I replaced the entire 1-2 and 3-4 synchro assemblies. If you can tune an engine, you can rebuild a T-10. Total cost for both assemblies was about 270.00. The hardest part is getting the trans re-installed. Good Luck.- Top
