    1960 turn signal flasher

I have been looking for an original flasher assy for my 60 for some time now, any leads on where to find one would be appreciated. NOS is not necessary, just a functioning original. Regards, John McGraw

        John,

Do you still have the mongoose?? If so, will it work on the rivits holding the window guides on the door posts??

I have found Werner and his staff to be a great resource for all 53-62 parts, he's located in Phillipsburgh NJ, make sure you get his catalog . He also has a website gccorvettes.com, you should check it out if you get a chance.

Peter, I have it loaned out right now, but it is not the proper tool to use for the door post rivets anyway. The door post rivets are soft aluminum rivets and are best installed with a rivet gun and a bucking bar. You can use a cheap air chisel if you turn the air pressure down low and buck the shanks against any smooth steel surface like the anvil on your vise. Take an old chisel for the gun and grind it down so it has a flat smooth face and just fits inside the window run. Drive on the rivet head and buck the shank until it swells up to about 1.5 times the original dia. and that should be about right.

I did however find out that the rebound strap rivet tool also does a real nice job on door hinge spring rivets! Regards, John McGraw
