    C1 powerglide to manual conversion

looking for info re 58 powerglide to 4 speed manual tranny conversion. I would prefer not to permanently alter the original chassis ie cut/weld. Can this be done as a bolt in? are the drive shafts different? any specific 4 speed better or easier to install? any info appreciated. Thanks, Ken

Only thing needed is the down pedals under the dash and a cross shaft suport welded to the fram that can be gotten.Other wise every thing will work with the same drive shaft and shift tunnel hole, the rear support may need a flat plate that also can be had.

A Muncie or super T10 would probably be a better trans. If the Muncie is used, I believe a 62 rear trans mount is needed. I did this same swap about 30 years ago and it worked nicely.
