I have recently had my LS6 exhaust manifolds sandblasted and new studs put in about 300 miles ago. Last week i heard an exhaust leak starting and when i nailed the throttle, i blew it out. I figured i blew out another donut, wrong, all three of the studs were gone. What can i put on the threads to keep these things from vibrating out. Yes i had them tight to start with. I was told not to put any high temp thread locker on them.

Re: exhaust manifold studs vibrate out??
Jeff-----
If you use the sintered metal type of "donut" gaskets instead of the organic type, use either prevailing torque-type lock nuts or brass nuts with lockwashers and torque the nuts to specification, you should have no problems with loosening exhaust manifold studs. The problems that you are having are unusual in my experience. Generally, folks have a VERY hard time getting the exhaust manifold studs out when they want to do so.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
