Thanks Pete & Wayne for the past response. I couldn't post a response until now. Password problems. However my problem is I keep blowing the fuse for the interior lights and stop lights on my 66. I have removed all the interior lights and fuse still blows as soon as I install. I'm also having fuel gauge problems. Meter stuck on full position. I've been troubleshooting while looking at my 66 AIM & 66 shop manual wiring diagrams. Questions:
1)Fuel gauge Tan & Pink wires OK. But don't see a Black ground wire. Should this be coming from the back of the gauge or is it grounded by the whole circut board? Diagram shows ground wire from the gauge. I know also the board is also grounded but haven't located/checked yet.
2)My wiring diagrams show the fuel gauge & tailights/interior lights together. Is this correct?
3)I would like to check all grounds first before proceeding with parts. The manual also states check ground at tank sending unit. Which wire is this. I've located 3 wires going to sending unit. 1 plug-in & 2 with rubber boots.
All other gauges appear to be working OK. If these two problems are tied together then I'm hoping it is a faulty ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This site is great! All of the this great knowledge & advice and I don't have to pay $40-$50 an hour for a shop to look at it.. Thanks
