If you know the sizes you need, you can get a real quality fastner from ARP. Here's the bulk bolt application guide: http://www.arp-bolts.com/media/pdf_f...f_stanchro.pdf- Top

Eric-----
Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) stores (now owned by Sears and called Sears Hardware stores in some areas) have a complete selection of SAE Grade 5 and 8 fastners in both national course and national fine thread pitch. They have virtually every size that you could need for automotive applications and, even, most sizes needed for HD truck applications. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: SERIOUSLY
Dale-----
The problem is that most suppliers of "industrial fastners" that one might find in the yellow pages of the phone book or other business guide don't sell these fastners in "consumer" or "retail" quantities. One needs to purchase a 50 or 100 size package of all the same size fastner. So, if one needs, say, 4, of a 3/8-24 X 1" cap screw, then one will have to purchase 50 or 100 from an industrial supplier. That will leave one with 46 or 96 in surplus. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: I Usually Go
My local Mom-and-Pop hardware store usually has whatever I need in one of their hundreds of pull-out fastener display drawers - Grade 5, Grade 8, Holokrome Allen capscrews, etc. - they even have LH thread jam-nuts for rod ends. Failing that, the Detroit area has more fastener suppliers than you can count. If you don't have access to any of the above, try AMK Products in Winchester, Virginia, (540) 662-7820, www.amkproducts.com - their catalog is five bucks, but they have every automotive fastener imaginable and they ship the day you order; just fax your order and wait for the mailman - great folks.
I also maintain a major inventory of ARP fasteners (the best, period), but those are for non-Corvette projects; 12-point aircraft fasteners don't fly on the judging field- Top
