I'm restoring a 72 LT-1 and I'm having trouble locating the correct brake line hoses for my car. My hoses are ribbed with two red stripes andred lettering. Also, the female connection has an integral flange. The replacement hoses I've found have white lettering and no flange. They use a snap ring instead. Does anyone know where I can get the correct hoses?

Re: C3 Brake line Hose
Gary,
Unfortunately, I'm unaware of any vendor that supplies absolutely "correct" flexible brake line hoses. However, most of the major suppliers provide a good quality product that is of reasonably close configuration. Some people utilize these hoses, and just remove the current ink stampings to make them closer in appearance to the originals.
The good news is, the hoses are considered a "safety item" from a judging standpoint, and you will not loose any judging points as a result of replacement.
Good luck,

Re: C3 Brake line Hose
Gary-----
There are no exact reproduction brake hoses, front or rear, on the market. The stripe/inscriptions on the hoses are different. Also, the crimping is different and considerably so. Some of the aftermarket hoses do have the "snap ring" type flange whereas originals used from at least 1965 do not. The current GM replacement hoses use the flange-type fittings without the "snap rings". However, the stripes/inscriptions and the crimping are not like the original hoses.
As was previously mentioned, I don't think that the hoses are judged, anyway. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
