One of my 67's that's original paint, has the flange, where it rivits on the door jamb exactly the same color as the hard area of the dash. Poor description I guess, but the un-upholstered area, like around the speaker grill for instance. The pop rivits are not painted and are closer to black than silver. (this is a roadster if it matters) Another local NCRS member who's been around a lot longer than I, has a very original, 65, 425 HP Coupe that's also original paint. His car, has the flanges, which are on a saddle dash, painted the Glen Green body color. Were there differences in these area's between model years or between coupe and roadster?
Color of dash flange at door jamb?

Re: Color of dash flange at door jamb?
Refer to your Judging manual on page 19. It is a whole paragraph devoted to this subject. Basically the "tabs" were painted body color if they were in stark contrast to the body. Example: Black dash and Blue body... IF you had a Blue dash and Blue body they probably would not be painted.
Hope this helps...- Top

Re: Color of dash flange at door jamb?
Thanks Steve. I'm sorry to say that I haven't updated my judging manual library since the late 80's and don't even know where they all are. I did find a straight axle one the other night looking for something else. I'll make ordering new ones from 70 back a priority now. Thanks for the response.- Top
