    Dis-charging 67

My 67 is not charging in fact at idle it shows a steady discharge at the gauge and something less than 12 volts at the battery. My queston is what's the easiest way to determine if my problem lies with the alternator or regulator ? Or do I simply remove both and send them to Mr. Pirkle ? Rich

Do you have a shop manual and voltage meter. If not, you can just remove the alternator and take into a parts house and have them check it out.

this might sound strange but your local Auto Zone will perform and alternator check for free .. that is a good place to start ... HOWEVER, it doesn't sound as if it is the alternator .. something in the system is asking for more power then the alternator can produce at idle .. thus the negative draw .. what equipment is "on" under these conditions?
