'67 Roadster Door Panel & PB Line

I just received a new set of '67 Roadster door panels from Al Knoch. Shouldn't there be a no hole for a Phillips screw about 1/3 down the rear edge?

Also, what, if any, printing should be on the hose running from the Power Brake Booster valve to the intake?

    Richard,
I can't answer the PB hose question, but the door panel definitely do not have a hole for an attaching screw. It should hang on the window opening and be secured by 4 (I think) clips along the lower and front edge that get screwed to the door. It is also secured by the door grab bar and the arm rest screws.

I guess that's where my confusion comes in. The NCRS Technical manual under Interiors, page 12, Section 1 says "Original door panels have a chrome plated Phillips screw and trim washer at the rear edge of the door panel approximately 1/3 of the way down to secure the panel". Has the NCRS specification changed to not require the screw?

        Hi Richard,
Mine early 67 convert.has screws in both door panels. It is a St. Louis body car #2232 with a time built code of C03. It still has the original door panels. I would be interested in knowing if yours is also an early car.

The 67 door panels definitely should have a screw about a third of the way down the edge. The 65 and 66s don't...but the 67s do.

              Hi Richard,
My car also has has screws in both door panels. It is a AO Smith car #0326 with a time built code of A24. It still has Replacement door panels. The door panels where replace at time of delivery by the dealer. The AIM indicates holes but does not call out screws. This is very interesting.

                I Stand Corrected

                Everyone...

I was just corrected about the screws in the door panels. So I just went and looked at my original panels from my 67 #17842 and THEY ARE THERE. I guess I forgot to put them in my Al Knoch replacements about ten years ago and forgot (CRS). They are also shown in the M. F. Dobbins Fact Book (8th Ed.)

This getting old and forgetting details sucks.

                My apologies.

If you think getting old and forgetting things sucks, think of the alternative. If you walk out to the mailbox one morning and your mailman is a groundhog, you know you have bigger problems than you (and I) have now with memory.
