Joe - I went back and did some more checking and my information regarding the introduction of the 2 key system for only the '65 Corvette and Cadillac is not correct. The 2 key system was in fact a new feature on all Chevrolet passenger cars in 1965 which corresponded to the ignition switch having 4 positions and the OFF position was LOCKED. Information from '62, '63, and '64 Chevrolet Owners Guides shows the ignition switch with 5 positions having a SWITCH OFF NOT LOCKED position where one could remove the key in the ON position nd move the switch between the OFF and START position without the key. These cars had one key, the octagon head key that operated all locks. So, it sounds like from the information you have there was a 2 key system prior to sometime before 1962 at least for Chevrolet cars with the Corvette being the exception. Pete
