I'm trying to verify the sequence of the black and white squares on the cross flags on the gas cap flag emblem. Does a white box start the sequence in the upper left corner of the flag or does it start with a black box. Also is the front nose flag the same as the rear gas cap flag?

Re: 1967 Gas Cap Flag
Noland Adams, page 397 shows the front flag with black upper left and the gas cap as white upper left. The JM indicates the nose flag should be Black. I'm not sure what is correct. I hope someone in the know can respond.- Top

Re: 1967 Gas Cap Flag
Ralph - This comes from my '67 as original owner, and they have never been off the car, except for last summer's paint job.
Gas cap flag (right portion) is a combo of black/white boxes, and as you know, the entire flag is oriented towards the 2 o'clock position. The upper left box is black. There are 4 rows and 4 columns, each alternating colors.
The bottom is a small ripple effect, with black on either end, and what would seem to be traces of white in the middle (it would stand to reason).
The nose flag is exactly the same pattern, although it seems to me (without measuring it), the nose flag appears to be overall smaller in size. If wanted, I can measure.

Re: 1967 Gas Cap Flag
Thanks to all, for your responses. I believe based upon original owners and the NCRS. Both the nose emblem and gas lid door emblem should be the same. They should start with black in the left upper corner.
This clarifies it for me- Top
