I have a 67 coupe with side exhaust. I'm trying to install the rocker moldings and would like to know if the rocker molding attaches to the side covers or do I have to install a rocker molding "retainer" first. It seems as if the rocker molding would attach to the side covers, but it dosen't seem physically possible. I'm sure I missing something!!! Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Dan

Re: C2
Dan,
Check out your assembly manual for pictures. Page G98. The molding attaches to a retainer that is about 1-1/4" wide and runs the length of the molding. The retainer goes on first, then the side exhaust covers, then the molding. The molding has a screw in the end to secure it to the body.
Hope this helps- Top

The rocker moulding retainer gets installed first. Install only two screws at the same two relative positions where the sidepipe covers are U shaped. Two are U shaped the rest are holes. Next install the sipepipe covers. The remaining screws will go right through the rocker moulding retainer. Make sure you install the rocker moulding retainer correctly as the rocker moulding actually slides between it and the body.
