I had my head under the dash on my 67 roadster today, and saw a safety switch on the clutch pedal. There were no wires to it and I didn't see any dangling, but it's clear this switch was factory installed. I've never seen one of these switches on a midyear before. When were these first used? In that I just bought a harness from 'Lectric Limited for the coupe and they didn't acknowledge it in their listing, does the safety switch take a separate harness?

Re: Clutch safety switch on 67????
Thanks for the reply Joe. It's a mystery to me also. This switch/linkage goes to the clutch pedal only, so I assume it was designed to allow the car to crank only with the clutch depressed. This car is so unmolested that I'm sure it wasn't added. I'm going to try to get a decent shot of it with the digital camera if it'll focus that close.- Top
