    C1 '914 Distributor Questions

This winter I'm planning on restoring the 1110914 distributor on my '58, it's leaking oil out of the fuel pump drive and I want to check the advance curve etc. I also anticipate installing the F.I. unit. So a few questions for the more experienced than I.

Where can I get gaskets/seals and other components other than the big houses?

Has anyone put one of these distributors on a Sun machine? Should I be concerned about spinning the drive gears without oil pressure? I have the ST-12 is the advance curve addressed in that volume? Is there a more favorable curve? If so what would that be?

Ok Ok enough, I appreciate any advice.

    Best Regards from Connecticut..................Mark

Mark you need to find someone like me, with a Sun machine, NOS GM casting bushings, reamers, shims, seals, gaskets, advance curves, knowledge, and know how to get the job done.

I'd stick with the stock published advance curve. The Sun machine won't hurt the drive gears unless prolonged spinning on the machine occurs. I remove the gears before setting dwell and advance. That way there's no chance of damage.
