C2 Rally and Tire combinations..

Looking for rally/tire size options for C2s. I realize DC wheels with 215/75 tires are recommended to avoid fender probs but, how about other width rallys and other tire sizes? Like 15x7 AD wheels and 215/75s...etc..

No, 215/70s. Seven inch '68 Corvette Rallies will force you to trim the fender lips, which I wouldn't recommend.

I haven't tried that. I might work, but there's another issue. I have searched The Tire Rack and other sources and the only 205/75s I have found have low or no speed ratings and wear ratings indicative of concrete tread compounds; 205/75s just aren't going to provide any grip, regardless of the wheel size.

The 215/70s will fit the '67 six inch Rally wheels, but you have to be careful about getting the suspension into jounce while the wheels are turned, like turning into a steep driveway. The reasons why '68 Corvette seven inch Rallys cause fender clearance problems is because they have -0.28" offset versus +0.06" for the '67 six inchers, so the outside plane of the seven inch wheel is 0.5 + 0.34 = 0.84 inch further outboard. There goes your clearance!

Just in the last day or so there was a post on the Corvette Forum from a guy who bought a C2 with six inch rallys and 225/70s, but I think with this size it comes down to the specific tire and specific car.
