i have a 63 with fi, the car is not zo6, the car is matching #top to bottom yet it has a seven leaf spring apposed to the nine, ft springs & sway bar seem stock 63 has any one seen this? it is painted grey,with the black rubbers any thoughts would be helpful this is a top flight car

I would opine that sometime in the last 39 years, someone swapped the base nine-leaf spring for the seven-leaf HD spring. The seven leaf spring doubles the ride rate, so the car will likely be very harsh in the rear and understeer significantly more than with the base spring.
I can't say off the top of my head how to distinguish between the base and HD front springs, but the base anti-roll bar is 3/4" versue 15/16" for the HD suspension bar.
My recommendation would be to search for an original nine-leaf and trade or sell your seven-leaf.

I think the standard front spring has the same number of coils as the heavy duty spring, but the diameter of the steel rod used to make the spring is about 0.525 inches for the standard spring and 0.68 inches for the heavy duty.- Top
