    C1 quick steering adapter

I am working on a 59 that has a quick steering adapter installed. The car was a fuelie from the factory, though all the other high performance stuff is long gone. My guess is that the qsa is original, but who knows? I have not yet had a chance to really examine the front suspension other than to determine it needs king pins. The problem is that on a hard left (?) turn, the pitman arm will contact the #1 spark plug, resulting in a broken/cracked plug. Is it possible that the qsa is a repo and has "incorrect geometry"?
The car has been involved in at least a light hit on the left fender, but I cant see any frame damage upon a cursory examination.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you missing the Pitman arm stop?

    Dale.

That's entirely possible. I'll have to get the ST 12 out and see what the pitman arm stop looks like. Like I mentioned to you this morning, the car's been rode hard and put up wet. Just came out of long term storage and I am somewhat amazed it will even run.

Dale, where is the Pitman arm stop?

I have looked in the ST12 and find no mention of it. I am somewhat challenged when it comes to steering issues (and most other issues as well).

          Ed -

It's shown in the ST-12 in the Steering Section, page 9-5, item #15 in the illustration View "B" at the lower right.

Thanks, John, (and Dale) I found the part in the ST12. I'll look at the car tomorrow and see if it's there.

Pitman arm stop is indeed missing

Now, where do I find one of these?

I thought as much. I was waiting to see what sort of "non-commercial" message Dale might invent.
