Is the the place to talk about Corvette part?

Can we mention Holley carbs? What about tripowers? Double Pumper Holleys? Is L-88 a dirty word? How about L-89? What about window stickers? And tank stickers?

I see people place links to all sorts of car and part supplier web sites. I am neither endorsing, nor providing a testimonial to the one for which I located by accident. Why would John Wegonmaster prevent us to from reading about this repro part? Is there something about a repro tank sticker that is profane and objectionable to the mixed company of the NCRS?

I don’t understand why other NCRS members can discuss my repro heater hose, or OEM hose clamps and they do and that subject is not taboo. WTF did I do that is taboo?

With regard to that holy, most sacred tank sticker - I have never made one, bought one or sold one and I do not plan on adding them to my inventory. I also have no affiliation or commercial interest in the company producing them and cannot vouch for the quality of their workmanship either.

For an organization that prides itself on an exact scientific evaluation of a mass produced auto and its parts – this censorship about someone making a repro tank stickers is intended to protect who from finding out about what?

I agree with you. I wonder how long my link will last. Eric

Re: Is the the place to talk about Corvette part?

I started following these posts last spring. At the same time I visited all
of the archives searching for information and sources.
Members give names and recommendations for and against venders. It seems like
sometimes its ok and sometimes its not. Differant people have differant viewpoints. Sometimes the same people have differant viewpoints.
I believe that all referals and all complaints should be ok.
We are smart enough to realize that problems occur and you can't please everybody all the time.
A vender with to many dissatisfied customers can either shape up
or, at least, know that we talk to each other.

This is neither a Referral or a Complaint

I am neither endorsing not criticizing this repro part as I have no experience with it or the supplier.

This was merely a message to assist those restoring their models of the wide variety of new items available to assist the hobbyist who is in search for the most “correct” solution to that incessant search for a higher degree of “correctness”. We all know that bogus is bad, and this helps eliminate those than cannot provide a good lineage to their heritage.

What a load of Horse Feathers. Why delete the link to a web site marketing reproduction tank stickers?

I have an almost perfect tank sticker on my 67 and I am in no hurry to remove it, it isn't even that discolored. I would like to have a copy of it for display
at shows. I dont see a problem whith telling others about the product. I would like to get a reproduction sticker for my 73 which is not in very good shape. it is not even nice enough to take a photo copy of.

I would suggest a fine aged one.

If you are going to restore something, do it "write" and don't skimp on those missing details. Get the whole ball of wax. Window Sticker, Tank Sticker, Protecto Plate, Order Copy, MSO

Myself, I would photograph an attached original tank sticker if I wanted a reminder or trophy to display. If my other car was missing a piece of paper attached to the top of the gas tank and no one could see it, I would not place another there for no one to see; Nor would I would not try to fool myself or anyone by having a reproduction of a such made for others to see.

But I am different, I even drive my Corvettes and only judge them myself.

Boy, that sounds good. At least, it does if you're talking about a fine, aged New York or Rib Eye steak. USDA PRIME, of course, and aged from a strip hanging in a cooler for no less than 8 weeks. Then, cooked medium rare on a hot, open flame to sear in the juices. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

I'd also have a couple three galsses of single malt scotch, a large baked spud with sour cream and butter and chives. As long as you're taking the order barkeep.
