1958 Gold Corvette

In 1958 there was one corvette painted a special gold to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Chevrolet, as well as the 39,000,000th Chevrolet produced. Alan Kaplan wrote an article in the October 1996 issue of Vette Vues magazine asking if there was anyone who knew of the whereabouts of this car. My father bought this car in 1978 and has had it stored since then. We are trying to locate information to document this car. Does anyone have any information about this vehicle, or any suggestions where I might obtain the necessary information. Any suggestions you might have are greatly appreciated. Thank you

1962 was the 50th anneversary of Chevrolet. A "Golden Anniversary" Impala with golden door handles and other trim was produced to celebrate the occasion.

i had a 1962 corvette painted anniversary gold from the factory,serial# 20867S105492 and i still have the paper work but NOT the car. the charge for the paint was $25

I have e-mailed Phyllis that the

picture of the car appeared on the Corvette Restorer cover, Spring 1980, volume 6 #4. The caption for the photo makes NO mention of it being a special color.

1962 was GM's 50th, not Chevrolet's; several others are now in contact with her about the origin of the car.

Correct me if I'm wrong.....Chevrolet started in 1911 + 50 years = 1961. I own the Chevrolet 50th anniversary album.......it's dated 1961.
