    '63 Parking light connector

I have looked in my parts books and a few catalogues but can not find if anyone sells the wire harness end connector for the parking light. I still have my original harness but one connector is looking pretty ratty. Three of the four wires have broken off and it is near impossible to get the spades out without totally destroying the connector (what is left of it anyhow). Does anyone have a clue where I maybe able to purchase one.

Your best sources for an item like this are Lectric Limited of Justice, IL and M&H Electrical Fabricators of Santa Fe Springs, CA. If one of those can't help you, you may be out of luck.

Believe it or not, though, the connector which you require may still be avilable from GM. Unfortunately, these connectors are not catalogued by specific application, just by configuration.

      Joe:

I was just on the Lectric limited web site and they did not list individual connectors but I will try giving them a phone call in the morning. I will post their responce after I talk with them.

      Thanks Dave

        Try a Delco dealer

If this is a generic connector and is still available, it should be listed in the Delco Wire and Cable catalog. Only question would be: How many do you have to order?

Unfortunately, the end with the blades is a molded on part and is not serviceable using normal outlets. One method that will somewhat work is to carefully slice the mold-on apart just to open up a path to remove the terminals, replace the terminals and reinstall them in position in the connector, then use rubber glue to bond the whole thing back together.

Lectric Limited will not sell the parts separately. I may wait to see what I can scrounge up at the Turkey Rod Run this Thanksgiving weekend. The swap meet is the largest in the southeast and is right here in Daytona Beach. There are probably 3000 vendors. If not off to the junk yard.
