    Fresh Tank Sticker Info

Finally got to the tank sticker with some great help from some great guys. Very readable and complete. Glue is too strong to remove, so digital pix were taken and the sticker shall remain. (unless I can be convinced otherwise)

The Zone was 03 with a Dealer #47, which according to this site could be:
Barford Chevrolet Co. Address: 8500 Maryland Ave City: Clayton State: MO

Does anyone know of this dealer of what became of it?

I will try to post an image of the sticker when I get them back from my digital department.

    Thanks to all!

For the purposes of preservation and limiting further deterioration of the sticker, I would recommend covering it with a sheet of clear mylar. Not the adhesive type used for laminating, though. Just a plain, clear sheet of mylar which extends an inch or so beyond the edges of the sticker. Tape the edges of the mylar to the tank so as to seal out all moisture and contaminants. Use a strong tape like commercial-grade duct tape. This way, you'll have done the best you can do do preserve it in place.

My 70 and a friends 66 came from Barford . It was just across the river ( Mississippi) from me. They were the biggest Corvette dealer in St Louis in the 60s & 70s. they have been gone for a long time There is a dealer 03 047 Norman Boggess in Madisonville Ky 502/821/5640 that was in 86 through 91 I have a photo of the dealer from the 60s Bill

My '67 came from Zone 03, Dealer #047, but I thought that it was Boggess Chevy. Was Boggess not in business in 1966? Was Barford the predecessor? Just curious as some day I plan to restore the car and get the repro window sticker.

        Thanks

            Bill,

Thanks for the effort. I am still left with a mystery as to how the car got to Max Pryor Motors . I think it is in the suburbs of St. Louis. Please ask your friend if he remembers Pryor Motors. Thanks Much!
