Does anybody know the choke rod length for the Holley List 2818-1 carb. used on the 1965 327/365 engine? I looked on Holley's website, Shop Manual, Holley rebuild kit instructions--can't find it anywhere. Maybe if someone has a spare carb, they can measure it for me.
Here is what happens, assuming approx, 75 degrees ambient:
Cold start--give throttle 3 pumps to set choke---engine starts immediately (cranks less than 1 rotation), and fast idle is engaged (approx 1500 RPM, on hi step of cam)--- if I touch the throttle IMMEDIATELY upon fireup, the fast idle drops out, engine will stall unless I pump throttle.
The spec calls for choke setting of "2 index lean" , and I have mine set at "1 index rich". If I set it at spec, I do not get enough choke in the cold weather.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Joe
