    66 Fuel Sending Unit

I know I've beat this subject to death, but I've read literally all of the archives and tried everything. I've installed a new fuel tank sending unit bought from GMParts Direct. I was told it is a GM/Delco unit. Could the unit be bad out of the box. I measured the OHMS at the sender while moving the float through the ranges. Tank completely empty I'm reading @23-26 ohms (empty) and @117 - 120 (full). I hope this explains why the gauge shows 1/4 with tank empty. The gauge does move to full (maybe a little past)when I move the float all the way up. I thought the ohms should read @0-10 (empty) and @80-90 (full). Grounds check good and so does wiring. Fuel gauge moves to E and F when I've jumped the wires according to archives. Any help will greatly be appreciated. I guess when my tank gets close to 1/4...it's time to filler-up.
