    C2 66 Power Antenna Switch

I need one of these. The parts catalogs I have looked at don't list them. LI Corvette Supply lists it but says not available. Anybody have a suggestion? I'm new at this, so if this is one of those things that's impossible to find, I apologize in advance.

    Thanks

Dr. Rebuild lists the 65-66 power antenna switch in his catalog under his part number 9647656. Whether or not he actually has any stock left at this time, I do not know. You could call them, though, at 203-366-1332.

Re: C2 66 Power Antenna Switch

        Rich -

I have replaced my antenna switch on my '65 twice now. Both times with the reproduction switch sold by the Corvette vendors for about $80.00 (as I recall). The switch is basically a piece of crap, as probably was the original. There was no way I was going to lay out another $80 for a switch that wasn't going to last (I use my car and I lower the antenna when I'm on the freeway). I replaced the switch with a marine type rocker switch which is MOM ON - OFF - MOM ON. I mounted this switch in the "original" chrome switch housing. This required a little filing on the housing, but no other modifications are required. Crimped some "stake-ons" to the old switch wiring harness and I was back in service.

No doubt, a points deduct upon judging, but it's 100 times the quality of the old switch and will probably last forever.

Thanks for the tip. I also have a driver that I don't intend to show. I have no switch at all now, just a hole in the console. I got no answer at "Dr. Rebuild". Maybe they're at Carlisle. Corvette Specialties of MD says they used to make them but are out now. I guess if I can find a junk one I can do what you did. Like they say, " the thrill is in the hunt"!
