    1968 big block

A friend has a 68 427 and says that it is not the original motor. How can I tell(without checking the VIN) that it was an original big block, or is there any other way?
    Thanks Doug

So I guess there isn't any other way?

Doug - the fuel line plumbing is different the way it angles towards the fuel pump, at least in the midyears, I expect this would be true in 68 also. Rear sway bars are normally installed in the car attaching to the trailing arms, and the differential will have cast caps holding the u joints versus the straps. There are other differences too, but those would be fairly easy to detect...Craig

Doug - the caps I mention on the ujoints are for the halfshafts, not the driveshaft....Craig
