C2 1965 Fuel Injection fuel pump

Was wondering if anyone knows the General Motors AC Division part number for the fuel pump that came on the car, and are they still available new?

Are you talking about the 40083 engine pump?

That pump was still available from Delco/Delphi for less than $25 a few months ago. If you're talking about the high pressure gear pump in the fuel meter, it was dropped long ago.

The current 40083 pump still has the general look of the original with its screwed together construction. Certainly the inlet and outlet are oriented correctly. However, the top no longer is cast with an "AC" logo, and the bottom is now a gold colored plated steel piece. I've noticed that when you lick the new pumps, they don't really taste like the '65 assembly line versions either.

Yes I am referring to the engine fuel pump. So your saying I may still be able to order this pump 40083 from my local GM parts Department.

And if Chevy doesn't still carry it, NAPA does. I think Carter makes it. Inlet/outlet adjustable. Close enough for government work but not for points if they look that close.

Paragon has the replacement style (no AC logo, otherwise identical) for $65.00, and they have the rebuild kit for the original for $30.00.

              Try GM and Delco separately

Use the seven digit number that Andrew posted at a GM dealership. Use the 40083 number at a Delco distributor.
