    C3=engine info "73

    This is my first time writing and I hope someone will take the time to help me.
    I need to check if my engine is an L82 as advertised and I don't know where to find out. I did get the following numbers from the block and I know its a 350;

    231508611
    K01 26 CKL

    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

    Bob -

    The pad stamp says it's a 1973 350, built at McKinnon Industries (Canada) originally installed in a Canadian Pontiac built at the Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant.

      Bob,

      The L82 engine code is listed as

      CLR,CLS,CLD,CLH..All these codes dependant on your particular application such as transmission type and emission equipment fitted.
      I can't seem to locate CLK for 1973.
      What you can also do is verify that the serial number code that you gave matches the last digits of your vehicle VIN as found on drivers windshield post plate.
      A true L82 "car" would be assigned a letter T in the fifth digit..
      ..ie 1Z37TS4.......

            All '73 Corvettes have Canadian parts on them- as do previous and subsequent years. Similar to Canadian GM cars that have US parts on them.

            Not nearly as strange as the large % of Japanese parts that show up on new Harleys!

              Why look for a replacement?

              It won't be original either. The points difference in Flight judging between the block you have now and a 'close as possible' replacement make changing it a poor investment.
