I received a call from a fellow FI car owner asking if the air cleaner used on ther 250hp 4900 was the same as that used on a 290hp 4900R. Apparently, this individual has an air cleaner that does not have a flange on the opening that would normally accommodate the hose to the fresh air opening on the radiator support frame. Since the 250 hp cars came without a fresh air hose he reasoned that the air cleaner he has sans the flange would be for a 250 hp configuration. Does anyone know whether there was a difference in the air cleaner between the 250 and 290 hp configurations. I did not know the answer to the question but told him I would ask the experts.
