For the five inch standard wheel, what is the back spacing and the center hole dia. I have the P/N on the wheels, though I have yet to find a number on the suspect wheels at the swap meet. Are there certain passenger wheels from that era that are suitable replacements?

Re: C1, wheels
When I bought my 57 I needed a wheel and a 56 Chevy Passenger Car was the same as the 3 that were on the car. The three factory wheels still had the original paint on them and the 56 had the same 4 nubs and the off set seemed the same. I also have a 55 wheel for a spare which seems the same except that the 55s have the centres riveted in as opposed to welding . Are the wheels the same from 56 to 62 ? Or are there minor differences over the years. Bob

Re: C1, wheels
Positive offset (which is what C1 wheels have) means that the wheel mounting surface is 0.56" outboard of the centerline of the rim. C1 5" wheels are essentially the same except there was a mix of riveted - vs.- welded wheels during the earlier years; all had the same offset.- Top
