    Thanks Wayne and Dale!

I'll go for the semi-gloss then.

      Dale, might I suggest

that if you're "burnt out," then kindly refrain from giving answers you believe are wrong, such as "Can't beat PlastiKote, Krylon is great." This is a pretty childish way of "punishing" those who didn't check the archives. Nobody's requiring you to post every time you don't like someone's question.

          Re: Dale, might I suggest

Nothing's wrong with PlastiKote OR Krylon nor Rustoleum either for that matter and if that's what someone wants to use then that's fine. More power to them. I prefer John Deere Blitz Black.

If you want to find out about PlastiKote then search the archives under PlastiKote. If you want to find out about engine compartment black-out paint then search under engine compartment black-out paint.

Maybe I'm just too logical. Or too stupid. One or the other.

Re: What John Deere Blitz Black number??

I buy my Blitz Black two cases at a time and haven't bought in a while. Maybe they've adopted a new name and numbering system. The aerosol cans come "high gloss", "medium gloss, "blitz black" and "muffler black" the last time I looked.

I have a can of black-out paint in my hand and it says, "PT 107" near the top. Also "PT 107" is printed under the uniform price code bar. Must be the part number.

            Hope this helps.

But Scott asked an honest question.

He was looking for recommendations and you gave a poor one out of spite. He did not ask, "Is there anything wrong with Plasikote?" OF COURSE it's his car and he can use "whatever he wants." He wanted to know what was best and you gave a false answer. Maybe it's just me, but I find this offensive.

                It's Definately You

He got honest answers about PlastiKote and Krylon. Many people use them.

                I don't.

So why did you delete your response

to Patrick? You know, the one where you say you're just "going with the flow" because you're "burnt out from answering all these questions that could be found in the archives."

Re: What John Deere Blitz Black number??

I have a gallon of John Deere Blitz Black I bought about 3 years ago with part
                    # TY6416. It doesn't mention a gloss rating but looks oh so good when thinned with their laquer thinner.
