    64 coupe engine

Starting to put the engine (327 - #3892657) back together, some questions have come up? I have a set of ribbed aluminum Corvette valve covers, but when I tried to put them on my 461 heads, they do not match up with the aligning holes.
I know that these are not the correct covers, I thought that they would fit. What are the correct ones? The wataer pump has been sitting out of the car for one year, and someone stated that it would be best to replace, because it has been sitting to long and will leak? It is the correct #3782608 GM16, should I replace or rebuild? Fuel pump, what is the correct #?

Sounds as if you may have a set of valve covers for a pre 59, with the staggered holes. The valve covers for the 59L and later heads have the bolt holes directly opposite each other. If you have the later valve covers, I can't imagine why they wouldn't fit.

I've seen a lot of water pumps sit more than a year without leaking, but if it makes you feel better rebuild it.

Correct fuel pump would be an AC 4657.
