    LS1 Initial Fire Up

A friend of mine just bought a complete turnkey LS1 crate engine for his mid 60's Chevy, and was wondering how to pre-oil it since it doesn't have a distributor to install a pre-oiling adapter for a drill. I am not literate on these newer engines....any help out there? Thx, Craig

Heck, it's a new engine, just fill it with oil and crank it up. That's what they do at Bowling Green.

if you want to pressurize the oil system just make or obtain a tank that you can fill with oil, connect it by hose to the oil pressure gauge fitting on the engine, pressurize the tank and oil will be sent into the engine. works the same as the pressurized brake bleeder.if you do not pressurize the system at least fill the oil filter full before you install it.
