Installing the core support in my '65 convertible after some underhood detailing. Found the fender skirt bolt holes are about 1/2 inch low from lining up with the support. I can raise the nose slightly to obtain alignment, but I'm afraid of stressing the body. Is this a normal condition, or am I doing something wrong? (Wouldn't be the first time.) Thanks, Mark

C2 core support installation
Mark,
I recently removed the core support from my 66 coupe and I was surprised at how much I can now move the nose up and down. Easily 1/2 inch. It doesn't surprise me at all that your holes are 1/2 inch low given the weight of the nose with headlights, etc. I would expect that a roadster nose would deflect even more. The core support attachment to the frame extensions is obviously an important connection for nose stiffness and stability.

Re: Thanks, Gary. I'll bolt 'er up.
I had a broken bond between the inner fender and outer fender panel. It made the front end very flexible, particularly in torsion. Once I repaired the bond and reinforeced it the front end was noticeably stiffer as it was now all essentially a single piece, so I suggest you check those bonds.
When I repaired the bonds, the frame was still on and the radiator support was installed. This essentially created a "fixture" to be sure that the parts were properly indexed.
