I have a 72 vette that has no rust on the windshield frame but i have heared cases on other cars that when the windshield has been replaced and they did not seal it right and so water would get in and rust the winshield frame and trickel onto the top of the car frame and rust it. I have a orginal windshield in my car with no rust but would it be a good idea to reseal it or something to keep the water out? I might get caught in the rain 2 times a year but other than that it only goes out in sunny weather or it's in the garage. Just wondering

Re: 72 Winshield frame sealant
With the limited and careful driving that you do,especially with an original windshield still fitted..I wouldn't do a thing..but just beware as you already are.
Quite often, poorly installed replacement windshields are the start of this.
If you keep out of the rain and live in a favourable climate, you can be considered fortunate.
To add or remove your original sealant will only complicate matters.
Ensure your t-top seals are in good health too.
