    64 signal flasher and capacitor

This application is for a '64 w/o backup lights. Would someone tell me the difference between a 2 bulb and a 3 bulb flasher? Secondly, is the capacitor that fits the fusepanel underneath the flasher the same for 63-67 cars? Lastly, is the correct Signal Stat or Tung Sol flasher and the capacitor available? Thanks Blake

Re: 64 signal flasher and capacitor

Blake - The 2-bulb and 3-bulb flashers used for the turn signals were fixed load flashers in that they were designed to operate properly with these specific bulb loads. For a '64, I would expect to find a non-DOT Signal Stat #144 or a Tung-Sol #224. Both should have metal covers. The Signal-Stat would have 144 embossed on the top of the cover and the Tung-Sol would probably have the logo silk-screened around the can. The turn signal capacitor is the same part for '63-'67 and beyond. Pete
