    Can you solve the mystery?

I continue to reconstruct my '57. I put it back on the road this week after almost 13 years! I have three neatly drilled holes on the curve, above the front door jambs, outside the dash curves, below the windshield posts, on both sides of the car. They are measured exactly the same on both sides. Look like they could be for weather strip, but none is shown for those locations in the AIM. Any ideas, or did I miss something?

    Ron -

Those holes are for the "door drip rails" - curved metal channels that divert water outboard of the door weatherstrips; they were installed before paint, and reproductions are available for about $80/pr.

When I put my 57 together I needed one and found out there were early and late channels . 56 and early 57 and then a longer channel for 57 late and 58. Maybe the shorter set didn't divert enough water ?????

        Ron,
Before spending $80 check Ebay, sometimes you can find them for alot less.
