    Thermostat housing

This weekend I purchased what I thought was a stamped on the outside rim GM 3877660 thermo housing. It appears now the numbers are GM 8877660. Is there such a housing? will it work? line up at the correct angle? In the recessed webs there are small raised circles on the outside edge.

    Kevin -

I think if you look really close you'll see that it starts with a "3", not an "8"; I'm not aware of any Chevrolet-released part numbers that started with an "8".

why would you do that because you know one of the things about restoring corvettes is bragging how much money you spent.
